The Sedalia City Council met Monday night and approved several ordinances, including one that allows for annexation of property. 

One of the new ordinances approved involved annexing an area owned by the Sylvia G. Thompson Charitable Trust and the Thompson Hills Investment Corporation, into the city of Sedalia. The area of land is located behind Tractor Supply on West 50 Highway.

The Council also approved an ordinance granting a special use permit to the Sylvia G. Thompson Charitable Trust to build a 4-story hotel at the property location of 850 Lamm Drive.

Service awards were also presented to Michael Holman for 20 of service with the Cemetery Department, and Barry White, a captain with the Fire Department, for 15 years of service.
