Which Local High School Has the Best Mascot? [Vote!]
This was a fun poll we conducted as the high school football season got underway. Thousands of listeners voted. Marshall had the lead in this poll, which is technically still open, at last check.
Sara Morgan Visits KIX 105
Up and coming country star Sara Morgan decided to come by and visit with the KIX staff back in April. Shortly after her visit, she started playing some local gigs around the area, including an appearance with Leroy Van Dyke for a benefit for the Uptown Theatre.
Police Department in Moberly Makes Hilarious Facebook Post
It's always fun to see organizations having fun with their social media accounts. In February, the police department in Moberly, Missouri had one of the best posts we've ever seen from a police department.
Local Author to Release New Book of Historic Sedalia Images
A new book recently went on sale that features 160 photographs of business, landmarks and sites of interest around Sedalia that date from 1950 to present. The author, Becky Imhauser, was kind enough to share a few of those photos with our readers.
Vicki Lawrence Interview
Beau Matthews had a chance to visit by phone with the one and only Vicki Lawrence in early September. It turns out that Vicki Lawrence was voted "most likely to succeed" in high school. Lawrence starred on the Carol Burnett Show, Mama's Family, and even had a hit song, "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia," in the 1970s. "Everybody turned it down. I kept saying it was a smash," said Lawrence.

Leroy Van Dyke to be Honored
Early in 2016, the Missouri House of Representatives held a ceremony to present Leroy Van Dyke with an official House Resolution honoring him for his 60 years in the music business. Van Dyke also performed in October for the Sedalia Symphony, and stopped by the KIX 105 studio for an interview.

An Interview With the Property Brothers
Everyone knows the Property Brothers from their HGTV show, but they're also musicians. Drew and Jonathan Scott ventured to Nashville to co-write “Let the Night Shine In” and “Hold On” with songwriters Victoria Shaw and Chad Carlson. They called Beau Matthews to talk about their venture into country music.
NFL’s Tim Barnes’ Football Camp Comes To Smith-Cotton
Northwest High School football player turned NFL athlete Tim Barnes hosted his “Tim Barnes Football Camp 2016” at Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. “I try to get current and former NFL players, along with guys I played with at Mizzou,” Barnes said. “We moved it to Sedalia and we’re excited about that. They have that awesome new stadium and all of the facilities over there."
David McCallum Interview
David Mcallum is best known for his roles as Illya Kuryakin from The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Ducky on NCIS. This year, he released a crime novel called Once a Crooked Man. McCallum talked to Beau Matthews about his career in television, and his efforts as a crime novelist.

Dirt Road Addiction Going Back to Busch Stadium
Dirt Road Addiction participated in a battle of the bands competition at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals! We took a bus full of listeners to their first show at Busch in June, and then in September the popular local band returned to St. Louis to participate in the Battle at Busch finals. They ended up with a fourth-place finish in the competition.
