Tornado

Residents of a Chicago high-rise risk everything by swimming during a tornado just a few days ago.

I was always under the impression that prior to a tornado impacting an area there would be at least some kind of warning. That process apparently wasn't followed Monday as a tornado touched down near Branson, Missouri with no warning whatsoever based on many who witnessed it.

I asked you guys the other day what you remembered about the tornado that hit our area on May 4, 1977.  It took a few days, but there have been a lot of very interesting, very scary stories that came straight from you.

Throughout the years, I've heard tales about the Big Tornado of 1977.

Here is the preliminary data from the National Weather Service regarding the tornado in LaMonte last Monday night (March 6).

Missouri Department of Public Safety agencies are continuing to support local responders in Perryville, Mo., where there is significant damage due to a tornado that hit the area Tuesday night.

We're getting into sever thunderstorm season. In fact, we just had one that knocked out power to a bunch of people at the end of April. If there's one thing you can find plenty of on YouTube, it's weather videos. Whether you're looking for snowstorms, tornadoes or floods, it's usually not hard to find footage of local extreme weather conditions.

There were several reports of funnel clouds in the Kansas City Metro area yesterday afternoon.  The National Weather Service issued a statement via Twitter on why there were no warnings or watches issued with these sightings yesterday afternoon...

Footage of a tornado enveloping a car and making it simply disappear is sure to make you shiver in horror.

This is a true miracle.
