Opening Day of the Missouri State Fair wouldn't be complete without the annual parade! Fairgoers lined the streets as a long line of Missouri organizations rolled through the fairgrounds this afternoon (Aug. 8). Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott has yet to introduce new baby Eisele Kaye to the world, but she's inching closer. The singer shared an adorable photo with fans this week that -- while not a face shot -- is bound to induce a chorus of "Awwwww."

On Monday (Aug. 5), our new guy Rob and I got to head on over to Liberty Pool.  The Sedalia Pools were working with the Central and Northwestern Food Banks to raise money for the Buddy Pack program.

Awhile back, I had some guests in to talk about the upcoming Les Webb Memorial Breakfast.  It was held this past Saturday at the Shriner's Club.

Kids, you'd heard about it, and of course it was "the talk" for awhile. So when the Shady Ladies party finally went down this past weekend at Bottoms Up... well, not even I really knew what to expect.

Kids, I was lucky in that I was able to host the Smithton Baby Contest last year. I was so happy that they asked me back again this year. We had the big contest on Saturday night at the old gym of the Smithton School.

Optical illusions can play some really weird tricks on our brains. We think we're looking at one thing and then... sike! It's something else. Honestly, what the heck. But you know the best type of illusions? The photograph kind, because they can be all sorts of awesome, strange and funny...

We're all entitled to our own opinions, but food is arguably the best part of any holiday. See, eating our way through this sort of celebration is an automatic win-win-- we're happy, our stomach's are happy, everyone's happy.

You could hear the engines roaring well into the night in Wheatland, Mo. as KIX listeners were treated to a night at the races down at Lucas Oil Speedway.  Complete with boat races, the Hickory County fair and go-karts, race fans had a blast with an entire day of action packed family fun.  We even took some listeners down there in style on the KIX 105 Patry Bus, courtesy of Ditzfield Transfer Inc.
