Having a pool in your backyard is so passe. Well, maybe not, but whoever owns this pool decided to pimp it out big time.

As Memorial Day opens the gate to summer, we all begin to plan our outdoor activities. Most of us will find a reason to get outside for the long weekend and enjoy food, friends, family and some delicious beverages. And really, it wouldn’t be a summer holiday without some grilling.

With the weather getting better and the days getting longer, it’s the perfect time to get outside. Nature-based activities tend to make people happier, so get outside and get fit.

The Warrensburg Parks and Recreation office has many events gearing up for the Spring and Summertime for the whole family.

The Cabin Fever Sport Show sponsored by Angler’s Port Marine and Rustic Creek Outfitters is coming back to the Mathewson Exhibition Center on the Missouri State Fairgrounds on Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Feb 2 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Well folks, I got the chance to get to talk to Amy Epple, who is the Recreation Superintendent for the Sedalia Parks.  She's definitely a busy lady getting a lot of great stuff in line for you and your family this season. Let's go over a quick list of just some of the stuff the Parks and Rec Department has going for you guys.

Kids, I know that we're all busy.  You work, you have to take care of your family, you have to tend to your friends, and you certainly have to be sure to get some time in with the pets.  So when it comes to the summer, sometimes it's really easy to just take the easy way out and send the children to the pool.  And that's great, don't get me wrong.  But sometimes you need something else to capture

The Great Outdoors Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club.  It will be a day filled with archery, shooting, fishing and all sorts of outdoor fun for the whole family.  But which outdoor activity is your favorite?

Right off the bat, our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the tornado in Moore, Okla. and anyone who sustained any damage from the weather in our Area.  Dukes & Boots will be taking donations for the Moore victims of the deadly F-5 tornado.  Please donate, no donation is to small.  Remember, this is going to be a crazy weather season and it's going to get worse, so be prepared
