There was a thing on Facebook a few weeks ago asking people to list ten books that have stayed with them in some way. So Facebook analyzed the responses from 130,000 people to figure out the 100 most influential books.

The Friends of the Boonslick Library in Sedalia will take donations of books and DVDS Jan. 2-9.  This is a great way for you to clean out your shelves of books or DVDs that the kids have grown out of, or things you may not have read or watched in years.

Kids, I remember being one of those kids who went to the library all the time.  When I was in high school, several of us would go and hang out on the steps after school.  I knew where my favorite sections were, and I could tell by looking if the section had been changed.

The funeral for Lynn Phillips was held at the Celebration Center in Sedalia this morning (May 31).  Former students, parents and community members gathered along the east side of Highway 65 to honor the Skyline librarian by holding up children’s books as the procession passed.  The tribute was organized by the Sedalia School District.
