Downtown Sedalia was the starting point of one of the most anticipated races of the year, the Sedalia Criterium. A heat advisory meant that temperatures were well into the upper nineties, and the heat index brought things well into the 100 degree range. But, that didn't stop the dedicated from coming down and cheering on the racers.
Bike to Work Day is a nationally recognized event celebrated annually on the third Friday in May. Since May is National Bike Month, Sedalians have opportunities to participate all month long.
This weekend is the Criterium Bike Race in historic Downtown Sedalia. The high speed downtown bicycle race has had as many as 200 entries in the past and takes place this Saturday on a 0.7 mile course.
