Overnight Saturday evening wasn't nice to different areas in Sedalia. The combination of high winds and heavy rain along with lightning across the area was a combination that took a toll on trees and roadways.

At some point throughout the course of the forecasted four plus inches of rain in Sedalia, you knew localized flooding plus trees were going to be the headlines.

Flooded creeks and rivers along with downed trees were prevalent in the area. Some low-water bridges also had flooding, as to be expected.

The Green Ridge University of Missouri Extension weather reporting station measured approximately 2.75 inches of rain on Saturday, and since Wednesday April 26, a little over four inches of rain has been reported. The year-to-date total at the station was at 10.85 inches.

According to National Weather Service, the forecast for Sedalia calls for lesser chances (30%) of rain through Monday evening. A flash flood warning is in effect until 7:00 p.m. Sunday night.
