Smithton Woman Injured in Pettis County Accident

A Smithton woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday  afternoon in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 67-year-old Kathryn A. Waters of Smithton was the driver of a westbound 1979 Chevy Silverado on Route V and Stuhner Road at 3:20 p.m. when an unknown vehicle crossed the center line, causing the Silverado to travel off the right side of the roadway. The Chevy then became airborne and struck a tree.

Waters suffered minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Chevy had moderate damage and was towed by Don's Truck Towing.

Pettis County deputies and fire assisted the Patrol at the scene.
