Smithton Teen Injured in Rear-end Collision
A Smithton teenager was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2017 Ford, driven by 51-year-old Mindell K. Reid of Houstonia, attempted to turn right onto Route O from US Highway 50, at 1 p.m. when a westbound 2002 Chevrolet, driven by 18-year-old Madison J. Arl of Smithton, struck the rear of the Ford, causing the Ford to overturn.
Arl suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD for treatment.
Both drivers were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Ford had moderate damage, while the Chevy was totaled.
Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
