A half dozen people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2018 Chevy Cruze, driven by 26-year-old Sean T. Burns of Warrensburg, was Route H and Highway 13 at 12:20 p.m., when he failed to yield to a southbound 2013 Ford Escape, driven by 70-year-old Deborah S. Mahurin of Higginsville, and was struck on the driver's side.

Burns suffered serious injuries, and was transported by JCAD to Research Medical Center.

Mahurin suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center. Her passengers, including 37-year-old Angela L. Willis of Higginsville was transported with moderate injuries by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center, as were three female juveniles, ages five, six and 10, with minor injuries.

All involved were wearing their seat belt, according to the report.

Both vehicles were totaled.
