State Fair Community College Roadrunner basketball players Devon Ellis and Jules Bikoy recently earned National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region 16 honors.

Ellis, a freshman guard, earned First Team honors. Bikoy, a sophomore guard, was named to the Second Team. The honors are based on votes by Region 16 coaches.

Ellis played in all 31 games for SFCC and started in 23. He led the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per contest. Ellis finished second in three-point field goal percentage at 44.2% and third in field-goal percentage at 48.8%. He pulled down 3.9 rebounds per game to finish fourth on the team.

Ellis scored a season-high 26 points against the Central Methodist University Junior Varsity in his first game as a Roadrunner. He scored in double-figures 20 times during the season.

“I am really happy for Devon to receive this award,” said Roadrunners Head Coach Matt Brown. “I’m hoping that this will encourage him to keep working hard in the future.”

Bikoy played in all 31 games and started in 28. He placed second in scoring with 12.9 points per game and finished fourth in three-point field goal percentage at 36.4%. Bikoy made 44.5% of his field-goal attempts for fifth place and averaged 3.4 rebounds per game for fifth place on the team. He finished fourth in steals at .9 per contest.

Bikoy scored a season-high 26 points against Three Rivers Community College. He scored in double figures 20 times during the season and had a season-high 12 rebounds against Moberly Area Community College.

“Jules was a team captain and one of the toughest players that I’ve coached here at State Fair Community College,” said Brown. “We are really happy for him, and a four-year program will be fortunate to have him.”
