Severe weather has hit the Northwestern portions of Missouri tonight (Sept. 9). The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth Counties until midnight.

The National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings, within those areas.

In addition to the severe storms, several flood watches have been issued in the northern portions of Missouri.

Around our area in West Central Missouri the National Weather Service claims we could expect a 60% of showers and thunderstorms, especially after 3 am.

"Wind is our main concern," said Sedalia-Pettis County EMA Director David Clippert. "Could have a rainy day."

The National Weather Service believes multiple rounds of storms will continue to cross into the area and some could expect one to three inches of rainfall with isolated higher amounts by Wednesday morning (Sept. 10).
