The Soulard Oktoberfest is kicking off this weekend in St Louis.

An authentic German festival featuring German Folk Dancers, German foods and German beers along with a selection of popular local and domestic beers. http://www.soulardoktoberfest.com/, (314) 335-7580.

The State Fair Community College will have a Blood Drive. 

The event is We Challenge U to Give Blood.  Just one donation can save up to three lives.  This will be held on Friday, October 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  It will be held at the SFCC Fred E Davis Multipurpose Center, 3201 West 16th street in Sedalia.  To make an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code KSISKSDLKXKX or you can call 1-800-733-2767.

The Northwest School with the Pettis County Route Five PTO will host their fourth annual Car and Truck show. 

It’s coming up on October 12 in Sedalia at Liberty Park.  They’ll have on site concessions and activities.  To pre register, call the Carshow Chairman Agnes at 660-631-5593.  No alcohol or fighting is allowed on the grounds.

The Smithton Class of 2014 will have a monthly 5k Run/Walk for their Project Graduation.

 It’ll be held on Saturday, October 12 at 9:00 a.m.  The registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Smithton City Park.  Adult admission is $10 and for children the cost is $5.   Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  Participants under 18 must have a parental signature.  For more information contact Cynthia McMullen at 660-553-0690.

The Cole Camp Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, October 12.

They’ll have several all day events. Bicycle Show 10:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Swap and Shop: 10:00 a.m.  Registration: 9-10:00 a.m. Tour De Clabber Town 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Prairie Days :  Nature Exhibits 12-6,  Kids Games 12-5, Hourly Tours 2-6, Prairie Hay Rides 2-6, Banjo Concerts  5-7, Star Gazing 9-12.

The Jaycee Gun Show begins at 9:00 a.m.  The parade starts at 12:30 p.m.  Crafts are at 10:30, German Choir 12:30, German music, 1-5, Traditional German food 11:00, Street activities 10:30, Old Engine and Tractor Display, Wine and Beer Tasting 5-8 for a cost of $10.

The Place at the Lake Benefit Fundraiser will take place on October 12.

It will be held at the Moose Lodge, 199 Winchester Road, Sedalia.  They’ll have several events from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. for free admission.  They’ll have a full day of events including: cake walk, silent and live auction, live band Tobacco Row,  lunch and door prizes.  Tickets are available at PALS Treasures in Lincoln and at the Moose Lodge, or call to have your tickets delivered for free.  Net profits will go to serve the Clients of the Place at the Lake.  For more information, call 660-547-2821.

The Community of Christ at 2000 South Ingram will host a barbecue beef and chicken dinner.

It’ll be held on October 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and resume from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  They’ll have barbecue beef and chicken, scalloped potatoes, baked beans, salad, jello, dessert, roll and drinks.  The cost for adults is $8, children 6 to 10 are a cost of $4.  5 and under eat for free.

Quinn Chapel AME 512 W. Johnson Sedalia MO is hosting a chili supper on October 12th.

At 11 a.m. until sold out. On the menu will be baked potato, hotdogs, pie and cake served with a cold drink. There will also be games, music and worship. Come one come all for a good time with good friends and family!

Teen Read Week at Boonslick Regional Library runs Oct. 15th – 19th. 

Teen Read Week is a national event focusing on literacy among teens. This years theme is “Seek the Unknown”. We will be having a Book Treasure hunt giving away a new young adult novel every day.  We will wrap up the week Sat. the 19th, by hosting the Sedalia Ghost Hunters at 3pm.
