Sedalia Suspends Curbside Recycling
The City of Sedalia is suspending curbside recycling and alley collection of garbage effective Tuesday March 24.
The city is suspending curbside recycling to allow residents to use both their garbage can and recycling can for garbage. The aim of this policy according to a city public service announcement is to make sure all garbage is secured so it doesn't blow around city streets, and to keep rainwater out of the carts.
Additionally, the city is also suspending alley pick up of garbage on the same day. This is so the city can use their automated garbage trucks to pick up the trash and limit the sanitation staff's touching of residential waste materials. The one exception to this policy will be along U.S. 50, Broadway Avenue. Residents along Broadway Avenue will continue to have their garbage picked up in the alley.
