Sedalia Police Reports for August 24, 2021

Monday evening, Officers responded to the 2900 block of James Road to check the well being of an individual. Contact was made with Keith Wolfe, who was transported to the hospital.
Early Sunday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevy truck that was driving in both south bound lanes of South Limit Avenue. When Officers made contact with the driver, they detected the odor of intoxicants on the driver's breath. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and his license was suspended. Stewart Allan Dennis, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and the suspect was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw. Dennis was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold. A request for the charges of felony Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) and Driving While Suspended have been submitted to the prosecutor.
Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop at South Kentucky Avenue and West 16th Street on a vehicle not using their headlights Monday night. The occupants were run through Dispatch and it was confirmed the driver had an active warrant out of Pettis County. Edward C. Groves, 29, of Sedalia was arrested on his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Non Support. Groves was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on his warrant with bond set at $500 cash only.
Monday evening, Officers responded to the 1000 block of West 3rd Street in reference to found property. The complainant stated an orange bike was left in front of the residence. The bike was placed into found property.
Sedalia Police responded to the intersection of East 17th Street and South Marvin Avenue Monday afternoon in regards to a subject walking in the road, approaching vehicles and walking through yards. Lori L. Hadley, 49, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Pedestrian Walking in the Roadway. Hadley was transported to the Pettis County Jail, but released on summons there without being booked in.
Monday afternoon, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department from Austin Mullins in regards to a theft. The theft from the vehicle may have occurred at several locations in the city limits. The value of the property is $350.
Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center parking lot, 601 East 14th Street, Monday morning in regards to a report of a theft from Cole T. Mescher. The theft occurred between August 19th and August 23rd. The value of the stolen items was set at $1,000.
On the evening of August 19th, Officers responded to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Lamine Avenue in reference to a vehicle accident. During the investigation, it was revealed that one of the drivers was in violation of his requirement to have and use an ignition interlock in his vehicle. Charges have been forwarded to the state prosecutor. There was no further information in the report.
Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Osage Avenue in reference to a possible burglary. During the investigation, a methamphetamine pipe with residue was located. Edward D. Miller, 58, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Miller was placed on a 24 hour hold pending state charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
