A Sedalia man was injured after his motorcycle struck a deer late Saturday night in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2005 Harley Davidson, driven by 59-year-old Charles M. Lawson of Sedalia, was on Route BB, west of Greer Road (northern Pettis County) at 11 p.m., when he struck a deer. The motorcycle then traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver.

Lawson was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by PCAD.

The Harley was totaled.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
