A 39-year old Sedalia man was arrested early Thursday morning for assault and unlawful use of a weapon after officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of E. 7th Street for a disturbance involving a person with a baseball bat.

The caller stated they had come to the house to pick up a relative that had been involved in a disturbance a short time earlier.

When the complainant came to the door, the suspect reportedly chased them from the house with a baseball bat and threatened bodily harm.

The suspect, 39-year old Noah J. Mitchell, was taken into custody and transported to Bothwell Regional Health due to intoxication. While at the hospital, Mitchell reportedly struck an officer in the groin.

After being cleared for confinement, Mitchell was taken to the Pettis County Jail, pending two counts of 4th Degree Assault and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
