The Sedalia Bombers have started off the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas on a great foot over the weekend.

The Sedalia Bombers defeated the Alberqueue Diablos on Saturday (July 26), 10-2; and then won last night over the Austin Shockers 2-1.  Lefthanded pitcher Winston Lavendier got the win for the Bombers last night, with only allowing 2 hits and struck out 7 and Danny Chambliss got the save in the 9th inning.

The Sedalia Bombers finally get a day off today (July 28),for the first time since Sunday, July 20. The Bombers are one of four teams that won both their opening games in the double-elimination tournament. The other teams that have won two games are the San Diego Force, Derby (KS) Twins and the Haysville (KS) Aviators.

The Bombers will play the Derby Twins on Tuesday (July 29), but the time has yet to be determined.

The St. Joseph Mustangs, were the other automatic qualifiers from the MINK League for the NBC World Series, but their schedule has yet to be established.
