The City of Sedalia is taking an open and inclusive approach to hiring its next City Administrator and residents are encouraged to take part in the process.

From June 4 through June 6, 2025, a group of finalists will visit Sedalia to participate in a comprehensive, community-focused interview experience.

Over the course of three days, candidates will engage with City leaders, tour municipal departments, and publicly share their visions for Sedalia’s future. On Wednesday, June 4, candidates will take part in a full-day tour that offers a firsthand look at Sedalia’s core operations and services.

Stops include: Public Works, City Cemetery, Sedalia Regional Airport, Animal Shelter, Fire Department, Wastewater Treatment Facility, Heckart Community Center, Police Department.

The following evening, Thursday, June 5 at 5:30 p.m., community members are invited to attend a live presentation by the candidates in the City Council Chambers.

This session will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person, providing a valuable opportunity for residents to hear directly from the applicants and better understand their leadership philosophies and goals. The final interviews will wrap up on Friday, June 6.

In preparation for this event, the City is inviting residents to submit questions they would like to see addressed during the interview process.

Submissions should be emailed to cityadmincandqs@sedalia.com no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2025. While not all questions may be used due to time limitations and the number of submissions, all will be reviewed.
