Russellville Girl Killed in Moniteau County Accident

A fatal accident in Moniteau County the morning of October 11 claimed the life of a 16-year-old Russellville girl.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2018 Peterbuilt trash truck was stopped in the road on Route C when it was struck from behind by a 2007 Pontiac G6.

The Pontiac then struck a pedestrian, identified as 24-year-old Kory King, a worker from the trash truck. King was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital for the treatment of moderate injuries.

The driver of the Pontiac, 16-year-old Elizabeth Edison, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8 a.m. by the Moniteau County Coroner.
