Clinton Pedestrian Killed On Missouri 7

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle while he was walking on Missouri 7 early Friday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 53-year-old Richard D. Land of Clinton was walking in lane #2 on Missouri 7, one-tenth of a mile east of Route DD, around 4:20 a.m., when he was hit by a northbound 2007 Chevy driven by 24-year-old John Q. Loftis of Springfield. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Henry County Coroner Dain Sisk at 4:25 a.m.

The body was taken to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton.

Henry County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.

The Chevy was towed by Golden Valley Tow Service.
