I found a true hidden gem of the dining scene here in Sedalia. It's not fancy, but man, is it good. Serving what has to be the freshest meat you can possibly find, the cafeteria at the Sale Barn in Sedalia cooked one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life.

The Sale Barn is a pretty unassuming building at 3503 S Limit Ave. in Sedalia, right across the street form the Sara Lee bakery. Every Monday, cattle are auctioned off to the highest bidder. It's pretty cool, they have one of those fast talking auctioneers and everything. But what a lot of people don't know is that they also serve amazing burgers and more there.

The cafeteria is a small, simple room, open only on Mondays during the cattle auction, so hours vary. They usually start serving lunch around 10:00 a.m. and stay open until the auction is over, which can last all day sometimes.

The burger itself is amazing. It's simple and you just add your own condiments at the counter, but they're probably about half a pound each, the prices are low, and I'm pretty sure the burger I ate had a name and four legs that morning.

If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, this isn't the place, but if you wan the freshest burger possible, you have to check it out.
