Republic Man Injured When Struck By Boat Propeller
A Republic man was injured in a boating mishap that occurred Sunday afternoon at Table Rock Lake in Stone County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2003 Harris Pontoon, driven by 65-year-old Ricky L. Daugherity of Ozark, Mo., was on Table Rock Lake, five miles east of Blue Eye (near the Arkansas border) around 2 p.m., when Daugherity attempted to retrieve a skier on a wakeboard. The propeller struck the skier after he fell in and was trying to retrieve the rope.

41-year-old Jean P. Herrera of Republic, Mo., suffered serious injuries, and was flown to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
The Patrol held the boat at its facility.
