The driver failed to stop, which initiated a vehicle pursuit. The driver traveled from Pettis into Benton County. With the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, they deployed stop sticks, which deflated the front tires.

The driver came to a stop in a field, and then attempted to flee on foot. Pettis County Deputies were able to catch the driver, identified as John Roger Dory.

Dory had several felony warrants for his arrest. The Pettis County Prosecutor's Office filed charges of felony driving while revoked or suspended, and resisting arrest, with a total bond amount of $25,000 cash or surety.
