One-year-old Drowns in Pond in Pettis County

A one-year-old boy drowned in a private pond in Pettis County around noon Thursday, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report indicated that the one-year-old left a residence at 32740 Tatum Loop just before noon and was later located in a private pond. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the boy was pronounced dead at 1:45 p.m. by Pettis County Coroner Skip Smith.

Pettis County deputies assisted the four Troopers at the scene.
