New Region-VI Superintendent Has Warrensburg Schools Connection
My experience in Warrensburg 20 years ago convinced me to stay on this side of the state, and over the years I’ve sought the right fit and the right time to return to the district.
Warrensburg Region-VI School District has announced its replacement for the outgoing school superintendent Dr. Andy Kohl.
The school district's board of education announced Kohl's replacement will be Dr. Steve Ritter. Ritter is currently the superintendent of the Sherwood-Cass R-VIII School District and has a connection to Warrensburg Region-VI School District.
Ritter credits his experience with student teaching in Warrensburg as convincing him to teach on this side of the state. The Warrensburg Region-VI Facebook post announcing Ritter's appointment contains this quote:
“I am thrilled to become the next superintendent of the Warrensburg R-VI School District. It has been a long-time goal to return to where I completed my student teaching and fell in love with education. My experience in Warrensburg 20 years ago convinced me to stay on this side of the state, and over the years I’ve sought the right fit and the right time to return to the district. I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve the community and to work with the many great educators I’ve come to know over the years.”
Dr. Ritter will assume his new position on July 1, 2023, and the response on Facebook to his hiring has been overwhelmingly positive.
