An Ashland, Missouri woman was killed, and her 15-year-old daughter was injured, on July 30 in a Boone County accident.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was southbound on US 63 when the vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, and became airborne. The Camaro then came to rest on its top in a creek.

50-year-old Jessica Sage was pronounced dead around 4:30 p.m. by a Boone County paramedic. The driver of the vehicle, 15-year-old Kayla Sage, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Boone Hospital.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says both occupants of the vehicle were wearing safety devices. The Camaro was totaled and towed from the scene.

This incident is the 11th fatality accident for the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop F region for the month of July, and the 41st fatality for 2018.
