The Department of Social Services took to Facebook and Twitter to remind users that ebtEDGE we'll never call or text you for your personal information. card number, or PIN number.

The Department of Social Services was recently made aware of a text scam targeting EBT cardholders. People targeted by scammers receive text messages on their phones asking for details about their accounts. This could be personal information, their EBT card number, or their PIN number.

Once the scammers have the information they then deplete the EBT card balances as soon as they get them. This is according to information from KY3.

The Missouri Department of Social Services suggests that EBT cardholders not share personal information, and protect themselves by changing their PIN numbers every month.
