Missing Man Found Deceased in Johnson County

On Wednesday at approximately 9:45 a.m., Johnson County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 300 block of NW 575 to continue a search for a missing person, identified as 52-year-old Dale "Ray" Mathews.

The Sheriff's Office contacted pilot Jared Sisk, who offered to utilize his helicopter to assist in searching the wooded area.

Several volunteers responded to Hazel Hill Lake (northwest of Warrensburg) to assist in the ground search that family and friends organized.

During the aerial search, Dale "Ray" Mathews was located deceased.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficult time,” said the JCSO in a facebook post.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office thanked all volunteers that responded to the area to assist in the search.
