Mark Twain’s Home Is A Nice Place To Camp Overnight In Missouri
Last week I asked about suggestions for places in Missouri to go for a potential vacation or weekend getaway. Hannibal Missouri was mentioned. I first heard about Hannibal when I was living in Mexico Missouri. One of my colleagues did a remote from Mark Twain Lake. In less than 3 hours you can be there from Sedalia. There are quite a lot of activities that I think would interest you, depending on your personal likes. And yes, that whole Mark Twain home thing. You can click HERE for a more detailed list of activities if you want to visit. Allow me to highlight a few.
Mark Twain's home and museum is certainly a must if you plan to visit. There is also a place where Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn painted a fence.
If you want to do a bit of exploring, and you are a hiker or like the outdoors, there is the Mark Twain Cave Complex, that will give you a few of some really cool views. As you can see.
After exploring the caves, there are options for lodging. If you are more of a camper, there are places to pitch a tent, or bring your camper or trailer. The Mark Twain Cave Campground is pretty sweet.
Now I do not profess to be a big wine connoisseur but if you like a good glass of wine, then the Cave Hollow West Winery might be a place to relax. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
There are a lot more options available to you if you are looking to explore Hannibal. There are options for shows, plenty of shopping, and places to dine. Might be worth a drive there this summer. Learn a bit more about the great author, relax, and explore. Just make sure to do it before the Missouri State Fair. :)
