Lindsay Ell’s First Tattoo Has a Deep Meaning: ‘Call It a Lifeline’
Lindsay Ell found time to get a tattoo over the weekend, but it wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision. The "Criminal" hitmaker shared a photo of the arrow ink to social media, which she says is incomplete and "to be completed as life unfolds."
"Call it a lifeline," Ell writes alongside a picture of two arrows on her ribcage. "A story. A legend. Pointed towards my heart, pushed forward by my past. Unfinished by design. To be completed as life unfolds."
"Every album gets its own mark," she continues.

Sugarland's Kristian Bush — who produced Ell's current EP The Continuum Project and full-length The Project album — inspired her, too, telling her before she went in to see the tattoo artist: "You get to have some scars you choose."
"And this one I did," she says. "Hello, tattoo world."
It was a full weekend for the 2018 Taste of Country RISERS rising star, who just celebrated a year since since The Project came out. “Crazy how much can happen in a year,” she wrote on her Instagram on Saturday (Aug. 18) alongside a video of her and Bush reminiscing about the momentous occasion. “Because of you guys, The Project went number one this week one year ago. To celebrate my debut album going number one without even a song on the radio....just goes to show you how amazing you guys are.”
Ell looks to get spend a little more time with Bush in the coming weeks as she continues on as an opener on Sugarland’s Still the Same Tour alongside fellow opener Frankie Ballard.
