A Lexington man was injured after two boats collided in the fog on the Missouri River Sunday morning in Lafayette County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound Lowe utility boat collided with a westbound Monster Cat around 7:30 Sunday morning at the Missouri 13 bridge. The bow of the Lowe struck the starboard side of the Monster Cat.

45-year-old Michael S. Hutchings of Lexington suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

Both watercraft had extensive damage. The Lowe was piloted by 52-year-old Paul L. Bowser of Lexington, while the Monster Cat was piloted by 51-year-old David W. Swearingin of Carrollton.
