Kenny Chesney’s ‘Kiss’ Part of Record-Setting Night in New Jersey [Watch]
Kenny Chesney admits it takes a lot to embarrass him, and the singer isn’t one to usually oblige requests from his female fans for kisses. But in New Jersey on Saturday night (Aug. 15), he couldn’t turn down the young woman he pulled on stage while singing “I Go Back.”
A press release from Chesney's publicist confirms the woman seen in this video has Down syndrome. She also has a spirit and confidence that eludes almost every fan who gets a chance to speak to 50,000 people. After calling Chesney her true love, she says, "He inspires me, and right now, I want to kiss him on the lips. Do you want to see it?"
Obviously the crowd did, so how could the “Save It for a Rainy Day” singer say no? After wiping the sweat from his brow he leaned down for a kiss, but then the young woman grabbed the microphone again to explain how the superstar and 2016 Taste of Country Music Festival headliner has inspired her for years, helping her get over abuse and — more recently — a flood.
Earlier in the show, the venue sent a tweet confirming that Chesney’s East Rutherford, N.J., concert was a record-breaker:
Jason Aldean, Brantley Gilbert, Cole Swindell and Old Dominion opened the show. The Big Revival tour will wrap later this month with back-to-back shows in Foxborough, Mass.
