The Sedalia School District finally got the red ribbon cutting ceremony in a beautiful afternoon for the public to come see the new Jennies Jaynes Activities Complex. Superintendent Brad Pollitt welcomed everyone to the new Jennie Jaynes, along with School Board President, Dr. Jeffrey Sharp.

The project took about two years from the time they decided to build the new complex to the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Dr. Sharp thanked all the private donors to the project and pointed out that no new taxes were established to make this project complete.

The Smith-Cotton JROTC brought in the colors and the Smith-Cotton band played a pep song to get spectators ready in front of the new entrance.

Activities Director Rob Davis said that the complex seats about, 4,000 total spectators and he looks forward to the first track meet at the complex this Friday.

The field will be utilized for not only football and track, but JROTC meets, soccer, gym class and more can also be utilized on the field made possible through the donation of the Heckart Foundation.
