
CoMo Teen Accused of Firing Shots, Car Jacking Arrested in Pettis County
A Columbia teen who fired shots inside a sporting goods store was arrested in southern Pettis County after he crashed a stolen vehicle while being chased by the MSHP Saturday night.
A 17-year-old male from Columbia reportedly first shots inside a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in the Shoppes at Stadium area just after 7 p.m., on Saturday and escaped the area westbound on I-70.
The license plate on the 2023 Nissan Altima he stole by car jacking was entered by Columbia Police, and was picked up by a Flock camera in Sedalia, and the Patrol began a pursuit south of Sedalia on Highway 65 when the Trooper spotted the stolen Altima.

The suspect turned onto Route V and eventually lost control just west of Bahner Road around 8:15 p.m., crashed the Nissan into a ditch, and was taken into custody. He was transported to BRHC by Cole Camp EMS.
He now faces charges of three counts of first-degree assault, one count of first-degree property damage, vehicle car jacking, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action.
The Altima was towed by Don’s Truck Towing.
Pettis County Deputies assisted the six Troopers on scene.
