Missouri Police Share Grim Reminder Before Labor Day

Labor Day weekend was born with the hope that many could take a rest from their labors and enjoy some down time as summer nears its close. Missouri police have issued a sobering warning ahead of the holiday weekend warning what can happen based on what happened last year at the same time.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol just issued a reminder of what happened over the Labor Day Weekend of 2025 in the hopes that many mistakes won't be repeated by some residents this year. Here's what happened in Missouri over Labor Day Weekend last year:

9 boating accidents resulting in 6 injuries, but 0 fatalities
1 drowning
9 arrested for boating while intoxicated
6 vehicle accident fatalities
931 traffic crashes
423 injured
104 drivers arrested for driving while intoxicated

There are helpful tools available that you can download ahead of the Labor Day Weekend including the current road conditions map that can alert you to road construction, delays or accidents. Missouri Police also say that you can call the Patrol's Emergency Report Line (800) 525-5555 or *55 on your cellular phone if you witness criminal activity or experience an emergency.
