Farmer’s Almanac Says Missouri’s Summer Could Be a Real Scorcher
I can already hear the naysayers laughing at the news that Missouri's summer will be hot. Of course it will be hot they'll say and they're not wrong. However, there's a difference between Missouri's normally hot summers and record heat and Farmer's Almanac says records may be broken.
In case you didn't know there are many different versions of the Farmer's Almanac now. There's the "old" Farmer's Almanac and also the regular (or new?) Farmer's Almanac. This is one case where both versions seem to agree that Missouri's summer 2024 will be a barn burner. Here's the summer map from the Old Farmer's Almanac.
Compare that to the "new" Farmer's Almanac and you'll see another emphasis on heat for Missouri beginning in June.
For the record, summer starts a bit earlier than usual this year with the season officially turning on June 20 instead of June 21.
I decided to look at one additional source for what summer 2024 holds in store for Missouri and found that NOAA Storm Prediction Center agrees Missouri is gonna have a scorcher. This is their forecast for April, May and June. This is the percent chance that Missouri will have a hotter than normal 3 month period.
No matter how you look at it, Missouri's summer will be a hot one and likely not in the typical kind of way. Might be a good idea to have your air conditioning checked to make sure it's up to the task.
