25% of that 12.7 million say that hate living in Illinois according to Zippia's new data. Which i guess if you hate the state that bad you could also move out of it and go somewhere else. It's sometimes frustrating to live in this state, but I don't hate it.

They say,

Illinois is one of the fastest shrinking states in the nation. Overall, in recent years the state saw a .54% decrease in population. With that number, perhaps it isn’t too surprising that 1-in-4 Illinoisans say their state is the absolute worst place to live. Yikes.

Other Hated States in the Nation

Illinois may be at the top of the most hated states, but it's not the only one. New Jersey is right behind Illinois at #2. Followed by New York, West Virginia, and California all taking the top five spots.

So What About Missouri?

Missouri seems to be in the middle of the pack at #23. Not bad, but not great either. And a big shout out to Colorado that are the least hated state in the nation coming in at #50 on the ranking.
