The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control has announced the arrest of Robert Wayne Stuart, 35, of Fulton, Mo.

Stuart was arrested on September 26, for six counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation by the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Digital Forensics Investigations Unit. The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, investigators contacted Stuart at a residence located in Callaway County, as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation. During an interview with investigators, Stuart admitted to possessing digital files containing child pornography, which were stored on his cellular telephone. Stuart consented to a search of his cellular telephone and during the examination of the device, investigators located several photographs and a video of child pornography.

Stuart was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail, where he was booked at 7:13 p.m., and held pending the filing of formal charges. On Sept. 27, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Stuart with six counts of possession of child pornography. Stuart is currently being held in the Callaway County Jail with a $50,000 bond.

The Division of Drug and Crime Control encourages internet users to promptly report to the Patrol or local law enforcement anyone who attempts to engage in unwanted, inappropriate, or sexualized communications with children.
