Important Ways You Can Pay Zero to Celebrate Missouri’s Earth Day
Today's Earth Day, and I'm sure you've heard all about it. But if you're like me, you're thinking that you can't afford solar panels or a special composting machine... and is the City even taking recycling? Last I heard, they weren't. Which puts regular people like you and I in a bit of sitch.
Does Missouri Care About Earth Day?
Yes and no.
Are we the most conscious state when it comes to waste and recycling? No. Are we the worst? No. Apparently, Missouri is tied for.... 36th?
Okay Then, What Can I Do?
There's a good number of things you can do to help the environment and save yourself a little bit of scratch while you're at it.
Turn the faucet off when you're brushing your teeth, washing your face, or shaving, to save water.
You can help reduce the number of plastic water bottles that end up in our oceans and landfills by using reusable water bottles.
Take reusable shopping bags with you to the grocery store, Target, or even the mall, and skip the plastic bags as often as you can.
Also, look for leaks in your house. A leaky toilet can waste 200 gallons a day. Yes, per DAY. To detect a leak in your toilet, add food coloring to the tank water. If the colored water appears in the bowl, the toilet is leaking.

So don't worry. You don't have to buy everything organic, you don't have to spend a ton on a new heating system, none of that. Just make little changes here and there, and it'll add up!
Earthily yours,
Behka
