A Holden man was injured after he was struck by a tractor he was working on in Johnson County Monday afternoon around 4:30.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 38-year-old Arron K. Guengerich of Holden was standing next to a Ford Tractor performing maintenance at 1113 NW 600th Road, when he started the tractor and released the clutch, not knowing it was in gear. The tractor struck Guengerich, before coming to rest in a pond.

Guengerich suffered serious injuries, and was flown by Life Flight to Research Medical Center for treatment.
