The grand opening of The University of Central Missouri's Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity (CMI), will take place on Tuesday, February 14.

Community members are invited to attend the event, which lasts from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

The event will begin with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at the CMI, located on the third floor of the Elliott Student Union. Refreshments will be served and there will be remarks by several faculty and students, about the new center.

The CMI began operating during the fall semester of 2016. The center is related to the UCM's mission and core values. The CMI works with underrepresented students and organizations across campus.

Students are the focus of the CMI, and some features include two classrooms which may be reserved by university organizations, organizational storage space, an office with four cubicles, high-definition televisions, Wi-Fi access, and tables, which can be used by students during meetings in the office or simply to relax and visit with friends.
