George Strait Drops New Track, ‘Código,’ Ahead of Sold-Out Vegas Shows
Country legend George Strait has a carefree, fun-loving new song to share. Ahead of two sold-out Las Vegas shows at T-Mobile Arena, the singer has unveiled "Código," a breezy new track that's heavy on the twang and all about the good times in life. Readers can press play above to hear the new song in its entirety.
A longtime partner and fan of Código tequila, Strait penned the song with collaborator Dean Dillon along with his son, Bubba Strait, as an ode to good drinks and even better company. It marks the first release of new music since Strait shared his 2015 record, Cold Beer Conversation, and 2016's Strait Out of the Box: Part 2.
Meanwhile, the singer continues his "Strait to Vegas" concert series, which originally began with six shows in 2017 and quickly extended for 10 more the following year. Since concluding his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour in 2014 -- which was billed as his farewell tour -- non-Vegas shows have been a relatively rare occurrence for Strait; however, in November he announced an Atlanta show with a bill that also includes Chris Stapleton, Chris Janson and Ashley McBryde.
Known as the King of Country Music, Strait has notched 60 chart-topping singles over the course of his three-decade-long career, more hits than any other artist regardless of genre. He is currently at work on more new music, which will be scheduled for release in 2019. For more information, visit his website.
