State Fair Community College’s Career Services is partnering with the Missouri Job Center to host a free Job and College Transfer Fair on Wednesday, September 18 in Sedalia.

The Job and College Transfer Fair takes place in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the SFCC campus in Sedalia from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Emily Westermier, with The LearningForce at SFCC, says the fair is held twice a year in the spring and fall.

Westermier says 54 employers statewide and 34 colleges have signed-up to attend the fair. She added that everyone in the area is encouraged to stop by and meet with representatives from companies that are hiring in order to network.

The Missouri Job Center will also have representative at the event.

Dr. Autumn Porter, with SFCC, said she encourages parents, along with current and prospective students to attend the fair as well. She indicated that residents who are thinking about going to back to college will have an opportunity to find out what options are available, especially for non-traditional students.

SFCC has 'seamless transfer' options available with a number of public colleges and universities across the state of Missouri. Some of those institutions will be represented at the transfer fair.

The fair is free for students and community members to network with employers about open positions and to visit with four-year school representatives about continuing their education.

Business attire and resumes are encouraged.
