A four-year-old girl was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2013 GMC Acadia, driven by 25-year-old Alexis J. Kindle-Schmutz of Sedalia, was on US 50, two-tenths of a mile west of the Highway 13 bypass around 245 p.m., when the driver lost control on the wet and snow-covered roadway, and the Acadia slid off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Her four-year-old passenger from Sedalia suffered minor injuries, and she was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

The GMC had extensive damage.
