Four Brothers Found Dead at Lake Ozark House Fire
After an early morning fire that destroyed a Lake Ozark home Thursday morning, four brothers ranging in ages from four to fourteen were found dead.
According to a report from the Kansas City Star, the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District was dispatched early Thursday morning to a report of a fire. Upon arrival to the residence located at 1636 Carol Road, the house was engulfed in flames.
The children were identified as 14-year-old Tyler Otto, 8-year-old Cason Otto, 5-year-old Max Otto and 4-year-old Levi Otto. Along with the four boys, two pets were found dead inside the home.
Neighbors stated in the report that they thought the house was empty since the vehicle was not at the residence. The mother and father arrived at the home and told the firefighters that the children were inside.
According to officials, smoke alarms were not found by the firefighters although they may have been destroyed by the fire. The causes of death will be determined by autopsies. The Missouri State Fire Marshal's office will continue to investigating.
