A week from today, Tuesday, August 10, is the 200th anniversary of Missouri becoming a state. And Missouri 2021 wants us to celebrate by getting together with our friends and neighbors for an ice cream social.

Since ice cream is a good way to bring people together, and the ice cream cone is Missouri's official dessert of the State of Missouri. Missouri 2021 felt ice cream socials are the best way to celebrate. Our area happens to be in luck, as there are a variety of ice cream socials in a variety of places where you can celebrate.

Here's our list of places celebrating with an ice cream social broken out by county:

Pettis County

There's only one ice cream social listed on the Missouri 2021 website for Pettis County, and it's the one being held by The Missouri State Fair Foundation at the State Fair Campgrounds.

Missouri State Fair Foundation Ice Cream Social, 6:30 PM CDT, in the public campgrounds on the west side of the fairgrounds. Ice cream is being provided by The Ice Cream Factory of Jefferson City and their signature Bicentennial flavor will be available. Johnson County

There's a variety of ice cream socials and ice cream events taking place in and near Warrensburg.

Ice Cream Social in the 'Burg, 7:30 PM CDT. Hosted by The Warrensburg Convention & Visitors Bureau, The City of Warrensburg, and Warrensburg Parks and Rec. The event is taking place at Grover Park and includes free ice cream, games, and more. Warrensburg's own John Kennedy will perform. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Bicentennial Ice Cream Social, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT. Buckeye Acres Produce will be serving ice cream floats using old-fashioned Polly's Pop Soda and will debut their new Buckeye Sundae. They will also have "historic arts vendors selling modern interpretations of 1820's skills!" 91 NE. 600th Road, Warrensburg, 64093.

Bicentennial Ice Cream Bash, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT. Meyer's Market is having ice cream, float, and milkshake specials. 202 N. Holden Street, Warrensburg, 64093

Carroll County

State of Missouri Birthday Party, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM CDT, The Carroll County Historical Museum will be serving ice cream, birthday cake, as well of sandwiches, chips and drinks at the museum. 510 N. Mason Street, Carrollton, 64633

Cooper County

Ice Cream Social and Outdoor Activities, 2:00 PM -5:00 PM CDT, State Fair Community College Boonville in the Kemper Courtyard. MSSDAR and Hannah Cole DAR Ice Cream Social, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT, free ice cream, cookies, and entertainment courtesy of the Hannah Cole Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, on the lawn of Roslyn Heights. 821 Main Street, Boonville, 65233.

Zion 4-H Ice Cream Social, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM CDT, ice cream and assorted toppings will be served, Taylor's Bike Shop, 519 E. Morgan, Boonville, 65223.

Henry County

Henry County Missouri Bicentennial Ice Cream Social, 5:30 PM -7:30 PM CDT, This free event is hosted by the Henry County DAR and Windsor Historical Society and Museum, In the Odd Fellows Building, the museum will be open for tours. 116 S. Main, Windsor, 65360.
