On Wednesday night, Pettis County Joint Communications received a call for service concerning a robbery in the 1100 block of South Missouri Avenue.

Sedalia Police responded to the scene, where it was determined an elderly male was walking when he was attacked by a younger male with a blunt instrument. The elderly male was robbed of his personal property.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, only to be located near South Kentucky Avenue and West 10th Street. When Officers attempted to place the intoxicated suspect under arrest, he resisted. The suspect was placed in a WRAP device for protection of Officers and himself. During the initial arrest, an Officer received minor injuries.

The suspect was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit for confinement check. At the hospital, he assaulted three additional Officers.
