Disturbance Call Leads to Arrest for Assault, Kidnapping, Armed Criminal Action
On Saturday night, Sedalia Police responded to the 900 block of East 9th for a disturbance.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the caller, who said that when her friend didn’t show up for dinner, she went to check on her at her house, and discovered her friend with multiple injuries and requesting help.
When the injured party attempted to leave the house with her friend, the suspect picked her up & carried her back into the house, and refused to let her leave.
The victim had multiple injuries and strangulation marks on her body.

The suspect, 29-year-old Phillip Lennard Johnson, was then arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. He now faces charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Kidnapping, and Armed Criminal Action.
